Economic blackout today! 2/28

I know this isn’t exactly a speech therapy topic but all of us work with people with disabilities, whether it be children or adults. Many of us work in low income schools (losing federal funding) or with children of immigrants or immigrants themselves. I just found out that a lot of my coworkers didn’t know about this so I figured I’d spread the word here. It’s a small but meaningful way to show resistance to a government who is doing things that are negatively impacting our field. Avoid spending in any way today, Friday, February 28. If you absolutely have to spend, try to use cash or patronize a small business. If you’ve been feeling hopeless, this is an action you can take to reclaim your sense of control. Just wanted to put it out there!! If you have to spend you could also spread the word to 5 friends to help offset it! Have a great Friday SLPs!
