Why do Starbucks close their lobby and become drive thru only for a day?

I have been to two Starbucks lately (last week and a half) that have closed their lobbies for a day or so and became drive thru only. What is the reasoning for this? Does it come from management or do the baristas decide, “no lobby today?” Is it a staffing issue?
