What are dip buyers thinking?
Low economic growth with reduced consumer confidence that’s threatened by tariffs and doge (the us government’s an integral part of the economy).
Persistent inflation along with increasing inflation expectations, exacerbated by tariffs.
The stock market’s been up 20% each of the past two years (against a 10% long term average) and is still flat ytd.
Each time lately that I think it’s obvious to people that we are getting some of the worst stagflation the country’s ever experienced and the stock market will crash, the dips keep being bought. Even today, the market closed well off its lows for the day.
If you are a dip buyer, what’s your rationale?
I appreciate your time.
