Seeking a good router with QoS - rubber banding and 300 ping in games
Hello. Elaborating on the title, I play Rocket League, playing at a top level, and I seek to continue playing until I can earn a decent amount of money from it. Unfortunately this is made difficult by my internet - when I am on my own it is pretty good - there are still some times where it goes a little wild but overall its definitely acceptable. When there are others using the internet however, (typically videos on a smart TV or iPhone - and iPhone updates) it is hopeless. Ping goes from <40 and then ranges from around 80 to 110 and then shoots up between 300-400 for some time. Basically, its all over the place.
Hope that helps people understand the situation. I am looking for a router that enables me to have the internet I need, and then leave the rest for everyone else, in a manner of speaking. I've heard Quality of Service allows for this, but the Sky hub I have has no such settings. I'm looking for a router that has good QoS, the rest I'm not so interested in. So long as it works with Sky Fibre Unlimited and has wifi, all should be good. I have a budget, would like to spend no more than £50, but if it is really worth it, I'm prepared to pay more. I still have to phone my ISP to check its not the connection itself, but to me it seems like the issue could be solved with a better router.
Thanks in advance :)
