friend ignores my texts and sends their own instead

i have an online friend who will disappear and go without talking to me for days, if not weeks at a time. i’ll send messages about stuff that i’m excited about that i want to share, but when he does eventually message back he doesn’t even acknowledge what i said and just… talks over me, really. should i bring this up with him? i have in the past, yet clearly nothing has changed. it honestly hurts, and feels like he doesn’t care about what i have to say even though i always respond to what he says excitedly. the best part? if i don’t respond immediately, he starts sending messages asking why i’m not. we’ve been friends since 2017, yet lately i’ve been kind of hurt by this and how frequently it happens.
