BlueSky for professional dialogue?

I'm in academics and healthcare and have long used the bird app to share articles, ideas, and network in the field. I was hoping BlueSky could fill that avoid but tbh, there are so many accounts from businesses and publications that are just missing on BlueSky still. Same is true for many people who I consider very professional and insightful, not at all toxic. I thought I had waited long enough to let BS amass users but perhaps not. Have other people tried to switch apps to continue these types of dialogue and did you ultimately stay with BS or go back (or a third solution?)?
