Bootcamps / Job Prospects

Longtime lurker, first time poster.

Im an avalanche forecaster with a masters degree and coded ML models to predict avalanche danger ratings that are driving operational decisions within my field. Unfortunately, I'm being held back in my industry from getting a decent paying, full time job by a mandatory course (due to financial situation). I've been applying for numerous DS jobs but nothing seems to be coming through - not even an interview. Im curious of a few things:

Due to my education, is it naive of me to think I can land a DS job with the credentials I already have?

Would a bootcamp benefit my situation (despite being incredibly costly) and help me land a job? Are they even worth it with my level of DS knowledge?
