Question on pilots or avuation “nerds”

The last couple of flights I observed that during the descent to the destination or really close to the landing there’s a feeling as if the plane accelerates for a couple seconds then it goes back to “normal”. This happens a couple of times before landing.

What is that or why does that happen?
