Do people with NF1 have different white blood cells counts than control groups?

In the ER with my wife, who has NF1. We were told her case wasn't urgent. I insisted because I read some articles about NF1 and white blood cell types that are used to determine inflammation. There was also imagery and other diagnostic reasons, but the white blood cells still have me wondering.

There's some literature, not much saying that people with NF1 have lower counts than others.

Edit: Clarity

She had clear imaging of appendicitis but normal (high) WBC values. If her WBCs are not like everyone elses, this can lead to mistakes in treatment urgency. WBC affects the quantitative metrics they use to determine the risk of rupture in appendicitis.

Edit: update

My wife has the genetic condition NF1 and acute non-perforated appendicitis. We are in the surgical unit and just recieved consult with the surgeon.

Her appendix is twice the size, as it should be for typical appendicitis There is some kind of blockage, leading to the appendix. All bets are off on what this is.They're unsure based on all imaging. They were unaware of her neurofibromatosis type one at the time of this consultation.

I'll continue to update to contribute our experience to the collective knowledge.
