Prospects turning me down because of my pricing

Im a CPA and started my own virtual solo practice last year (living in a MCOL area). I mostly work with small business owners and some people who just have a 1040. In the past two weeks I’ve had two prospects complain about my pricing.

One had an S Corp and a 1040. I quoted $1,100 for the S Corp and $600 for the 1040. Nothing overly complex but it seemed like she’d be a bit difficult. She also said she didn’t trust her current accountant and didn’t know what was going on with her taxes. When I gave her the quote she said the 1040 was twice what she pays now. Even though she doesn’t like her current CPA.

The other couple was a 1040 with W2s and some miscellaneous tax forms. Also not complex so I quoted $425. They said it was way higher than expected.

I’m trying to provide more value by doing brief Loom videos recapping returns. I also don’t charge for most email communication throughout the year when people have questions. I try to build it into a fixed fee. But I’m getting discouraged by the people who say my pricing is too high. I want clients but don’t want to price too low to where I need more volume to make it up. I don’t know what to do anymore.
