#Moana2 has now broken the #boxoffice record for biggest global opening of ALL-TIME for an animated film! Monster $389M beating $377M for last year's Super Mario Bros. Both had massive 5-day domestic holiday launches - $225.2M vs $204.6M. Mario ended up with $1.36B!

#Moana2 easily conquered #Thanksgiving     wknd at #1 with record $135.5M FRI-SUN and $221M WED-SUN - biggest #boxoffice gross this holiday has EVER seen! Outstanding 173% bigger than first #Moana. Overseas debut was $165.3M for global launch of $386.3M and plenty more to come!

Based off the first 12 hours of sales for #Mufasa, you can lock in another $1b+ film for @DisneyStudios . I also hear screenings have gone very well. What a comeback year for Disney.

Update on #Moana2 is pre-sales are just ridiculous and hard to comp to anything at this point. I'm not going to put a number on it other than to say $200m+ 5 day domestic won't surprise me a single bit and hear the movie is great. @DisneyStudios with another $1b+ juggernaut.

Fantastic sales so far after just a few hours for #Moana2. Looks like it's going to be huge and Thanksgiving 2024 is going to be a record setting holiday season. Will know much more after 24 hours of sales, but another great call by @DisneyStudios moving this to theatrical.

WB is estimating 30% SAT-to-SUN drop for #Joker2  today. Last year this same holiday wknd, only 1 film in Top 10 dipped 30% or less - #TaylorSwift concert pic. Most films dropped in 35-45% range. So, final wknd #boxoffice may slip below $7M & final wknd drop might rise to -82%.

Was hoping numbers for @jokermovie would improve, but it's has the most toxic word of mouth it could possibly have and will struggle to open to $48m this weekend. With the volume of film coming, it likely falls hard and fast and will finish below the opening of Joker. @wbpictures

Numbers don't lie, and even this early red flags everywhere and @jokermovie is in big big trouble if first half day of pre-sales are any indication. $100m opening in serious jeopardy and might go a lot lower. Hopefully won't head for The Marvels / The Flash territory.

The biggest bomb of the summer? Lionsgate's video game misadventure, BORDERLANDS, tanked again in its 2nd weekend dropping a whopping -73% w/ just $2.3M, $13M total.

Could be $42m-$45m for @AlienAnthology #AlienRomulus  this weekend, exceeding industry expectations overall. Not bad for a $65m budget movie that was originally going to streaming! Nice job by @20thcentury getting this in theaters and re-starting the franchise.
